Ok, I admit I'm trolling a bit, but there's already some backtracking with the whole "no loading screens" thing. First Insomniac ("Leap from planet to planet NEARLY instantly"), now Guerilla ("VIRTUALLY no loading screens").

Oh, come on, guys. Whether you're taking sides in this silly console war or not, you know this isn't really a full-blown sequel. It's not DLC but it's not an entirely new game either. And it's fine as long as they charge 40$ for it.

"Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – An update from Insomniac Games" - it's funny, because you don't know if it's the article's headline or the full title of the game.

Ba-dum, tshhhhhh!

Clearly it was designed with vertical orientation in mind, which is also why it was unveiled this way.

To each his own. The Last of Us Remaster was my GotG (despite being a remaster) until i played BotW. Haven't played tLoU2 obviously, and I hope it's as good as the first one. Still, so far BotW remains the highest-ranked game of this generation.

I can't think of other games worthy of a GotG title, though, especially on Xbox. Maaaaybe Titanfall 2. God of War was good and I can see how it could be someone's favorite, but I never was a fan of the series, so it ...

Prediction: it's going to be the Game of the Generation. Again.

Oh noes, it's "held back", noooooo

Techically, you can do a lot better: more gameplay, more (close) release dates, no filler games, less reliance on sequels, at least one huge new IP, pricing. There's room for improvement.

Making new graphics cards is pointless. According to N4G experts, the games will be 'held back' by cheaper cards anyway.

Owning Mechwarrior is like owning Power Rangers. Theoretically the IPs hold some value, but you ask for ideas for a game not immediately doomed to mediocrity and everyone leaves the room.

IMO it wasn't a good gen, period. It will go down in history as 'More of the same generation'. What are the best games this gen? God of War 17? Forza Horizon 12? Where are the breakthrough games like Gears of War, Mass Effect, the original Modern Warfare? Where was the AAA spectacle of Uncharted 2 or Last of Us? Sure, we've had some good ones, but the current generation defined nothing, it was a long pause for the corporations to take a breather. I hope the next one fixes that...

Overall I don't care that much which controller I use. Ergonomically, your main method of input should be at the top, which means that DualShocks are best at "d-pad + buttons" games, like Tekken. Xbox controllers excel at "analog stick + buttons" games (ummm, Forza?) and - for example - WiiU Pro controller should work best with FPSes (stick + stick).

Still, if you're an 'average gamer' (not entirely casual, but not an addict), adapting t...

It's hard to compare aesthetics of Assassin's Creed: Japan and Zelda. Both may be open world, but visually they serve different purposes.

I hate it when lower-spec machines hold games back. Like with Horizon: Zero Dawn - since it's coming to PC, it was obviously held back by all the min requirements PCs it will run on. And there's Witcher 3 on Switch! Imagine how great it would be if it wasn't held back by Nintendo...

This list, full of stretches, half-truths, non-truths and irrelevant stuff, just shows that when it comes to innovation, it's Nintendo -> MS -> Sony.

Sony copied:
1. Analog sticks (saying "ummm, let's have two of those" is not innovation)
2. Triggers
3. CD console
4. Backwards compatibility
5. Handheld consoles
6. VR
7. Online gaming standards (still catching up, if I wanted to be mean) ...

But this will hold CP2077 back! Now they can't have the magical AI and all the gameplay improvements new consoles will totally offer! Nooooooo!

Current gen did nothing new gameplay-wise, I don't expect next-gen to be different.

Please, MS, be more #fortheplayers like Sony. Don't put so many games on GP, we want to pay full price on top of our subscriptions. Also, please force us to buy your new console if we want to play those launch titles that are barely distinguishable from current-gen games. This is how it always was and this is how it should forever be.

If it was exclusive to XSX, it would have self-conscious AI with mind-reading powers. You know, like PS5 launch titles will totally have, not being held back by PS4 versions and all. Just look at PS4 launch titles - Killzone was absolutely impossible to pull off on PS3, all those groundbreaking gameplay features, those fresh new ideas that would melt PS3s left and right if ever attempted on previous gen.

It's sad, really, how gimped MS Flight Simulator is, simply terrib...

First of all, Sony is closing studios for the players. This is the opposite of what MS is doing - closing studios for greed and evil. I for one think this is another brilliant move by Sony. They will efficiently redistribute the talented developers to other studios, which in turn will allow them to bring us such critically acclaimed and bestselling True Exclusives as God of War, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-man, Death Stranding, Killzone, Uncharted, Dreams, Resistance, Uncharted ...
